We keep hearing that Islam is a peaceful religion, that these Isis or Isil along with Osama bin Laden (Al Qaeda), Ayman Al Zawahiri and many many others are extremists and and are not of the true Islamic religion. Is this true or are these the “actual” followers of the Islamic religion?

Lets look at “religions” and see where things come from- we will start with Christianity:

The (person) that began what is known today as Christianity was Jesus. Christ is Greek and stands for Messiah, in Hebrew. So, to be the Christ, or Messiah, is to be “the anointed one of God.”

Where do we see this in the Old Testament?

Isaiah 7:14: Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign: The virgin will be with child and will give birth to a son, and will call him Immanuel.

Micah 5:1-2: Marshal your troops, O city of troops, for a siege is laid against us. They will strike Israel’s ruler on the cheek with a rod. “But you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, though you are small among the clans of Judah, out of you will come for me one who will be ruler over Israel, whose origins are from of old, from ancient times.”

Genesis 3:15, And I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your offspring and hers; he will crush your head, and you will strike his heel.” (Speaking of Jesus crushing satans head- but was physically killed- the cross remember?)

Jeremiah 23:5: “The days are coming,” declares the LORD, “when I will raise up to David a righteous Branch, a King who will reign wisely and do what is just and right in the land. (This is yet to happen- but will when He returns)

So what was this Jesus like? Well He healed the sick, raised the dead, taught love and forgiveness- examples:

Mark 1:34, Jesus healed many who had various diseases. He also drove out many demons, but he would not let the demons speak because they knew who he was.

Mark 5: 35-43, While Jesus was still speaking, some people came from the house of Jairus, the synagogue leader. “Your daughter is dead,” they said. “Why bother the teacher anymore?” Overhearing[a] what they said, Jesus told him, “Don’t be afraid; just believe.”
He did not let anyone follow him except Peter, James and John the brother of James. 38 When they came to the home of the synagogue leader, Jesus saw a commotion, with people crying and wailing loudly. 39 He went in and said to them, “Why all this commotion and wailing? The child is not dead but asleep.” But they laughed at him. After he put them all out, he took the child’s father and mother and the disciples who were with him, and went in where the child was. He took her by the hand and said to her, “Talitha koum!” (which means “Little girl, I say to you, get up!”). Immediately the girl stood up and began to walk around (she was twelve years old). At this they were completely astonished. He gave strict orders not to let anyone know about this, and told them to give her something to eat.

Matt. 22: 37-39, Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’
This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’

Matt. 6: 14-15, For if you forgive men when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive men their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.

Luke 23: 33-34, When they came to a place called the Skull, there they crucified him, along with the criminals – one on his right, the other on his left, Jesus said, “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing.”

When people speak badly of Jesus we pray they come to know the Truth- of what God has done for them through Jesus!

So who is attributed with Islam? It was Muhammad.

So what was he like? Muhammad spent his last ten years, from 622 to 632, as the leader of Medina in a state of war with pagan Mecca. (A warrior!)

What did he teach?

Surah 8, ayat 12- Remember thy Lord inspired the angels (with the message): “I am with you: give firmness to the Believers: I will instil terror into the hearts of the Unbelievers: smite ye above their necks and smite all their finger-tips off them.”

Chapter (61) sūrat l-ṣaf- Indeed, Allah loves those who fight in His cause in a row as though they are a [single] structure joined firmly.

Sura 26:227 “Except those who believe, work righteousness, engage much in the remembrance of God, and defend themselves only after they are unjustly attacked. And soon will the unjust assailants know what vicissitudes their affairs will take!”

Muslim’s make every effort to suppress any who claim to follow the Bible. They say they believe the Bible but will not allow the Bible to be taught to Muslims. They cannot allow anyone who believes the Bible the right to declare their belief as they do. Their persecution of Bible believers shows their lack of trust in their own religion to show any truth. If they trust the power of the Qur’an, why would they rely on physical force and intimidation. However they will say, “Therefore grant a delay to the Unbelievers: Give respite to them gently (for awhile).” Sura 86:17 (and speaking badly of Muhammad really upsets his followers- to the point of murdering those that do.)

Jesus taught love for everyone Muhammad taught violence and war except those that were of “his” made up religion!

Now what will happen in the end?

Well Jesus said He would return many times in many ways- but for the sake of space, I’ll just give one example:

John 14: 2-3, My Father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am.

Did Muhammad say he would return? NO!!!!

But he did say Jesus would- although he and those that follow his religion got things mixed up- but then what could someone expect?:

This fact appears in the Qur’an, the 43rd Sura, Gold Ornaments, verse 61 (YA):

And (Jesus) shall be a Sign (for the coming of)
the Hour (of Judgement):
Therefore have no doubt about the (hour),
but Follow ye Me” this is a Straight Way.

Yusuf Ali’s Quranic notes tell us that this verse “is understood to refer to the second coming of Jesus in the Last Days just before the Resurrection…”

Another Muslim commentator writes:

The second advent of Jesus Christ (peace be on Him) is true and finds corroboration from authentic traditions reported by no less authorities than Bukhari and Muslim. The rightly-guided Caliphs, the companions of the prophet, the pious Imams and jurists of Islam have all admitted this fact. Not the least controversy or even a semblance of controversy was raised by them about it. This is therefore an Ijma which is binding upon the Muslims.3

Romans 12: 1-2, Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.

Choose who you will serve- because they are NOT the same and while following One (Jesus) leads to life the other (Muhammad) leads to “Eternal” damnation and death!
