Receive Great Blessings Part 2

Matthew 5:7 declares “Great blessings belong to those who show mercy to others. Mercy will be given to them” (ERV). God is pleased when we show mercy to others, consequently, He releases an awesome power in our lives that pulls down strongholds. We are not bound—shackled in chains of anger, resentment or the need to seek revenge. In our flesh, we may seek revenge for harm done to us; we may say that justice must be done. Yet, when we take this course of action, we can find no spiritual cleansing of our souls, and we won’t find favor with God through retaliation. Jesus said, we must forgive one another if we want our heavenly Father to forgive us.

Receive Great Blessings Part 1

What is a blessing? Dictionary.com provides two intriguing definitions of the word “blessing.” Firstly, it is “a favor or gift bestowed by God, thereby bringing happiness” and also “the invoking of God’s favor upon a person.” Without a doubt, if a blessing is as defined—I pray for blessings.

Whether you believe it or not, we all have blessings. Unfortunately, some people choose not to recognize the blessings they have been given. However, those of us who believe in Jesus Christ realize and are thankful for our blessings, the greatest of which is having a personal relationship with Christ, and thus having a connection to the heavenly Father. Evidently, people who recognize their blessings have a more positive attitude towards life and a higher probability of succeeding in life’s endeavors.
