Celebrating life! A Time of Healing and Thanksgiving (Part 1)

Our family is in mourning. As you read this article, you too may be experiencing grief similar to the various members of my family today. In our circle, some are grieving the loss of loved ones; others are watching their dearly beloved deteriorating. Throughout the month of October there are usually two things on my mind, ‘the death of my maternal grandmother’ in conjunction with ‘cancer awareness’ and as November approaches I think of my maternal grandfather who would have been celebrating his birthday if he was still with us—he died of a heart attack.

Saved from the Jaws of Death Part 1

It is not God’s desire for anyone to perish in eternal damnation. He loves
His creation and that’s why He sent Jesus to die so that even the vilest can
be redeemed. Even when Jesus was nailed to the cross, one of the criminals
being crucified beside Him said: “Jesus, remember me when you come into
your kingdom!” To this, Jesus replied: “Truly I tell you, today you shall be
with me in Paradise” (Luke 23:42).

This criminal’s human life was just about to end, and then our Lord
promised him eternal life in Paradise! Jesus snatched this sinner from the
jaws of death! He saved this man as He Himself was letting go of His own
