Over the years I, like you, have heard many things told as fact (God said) and in searching found it to be ideas told and believed when there was no truth to them.

Do you accept things as truth, not questioning it, when someone tells something as though it is written in the Bible? Many come to my mind, but for space we’ll look at just one:

The 144,000 Jews will be preaching during the Tribulation.

Like I say there are many, many more serious then this but just making a point that we should never accept what others say, but check it out ourselves!

As with all the other issues, we look first at the True source for our information, God’s Word:

Rev. 7:3-8, “Do not harm the land or the sea or the trees until we put a seal on the foreheads of the servants of our God.” Then I heard the number of those who were sealed: 144,000 from all the tribes of Israel.

Then I heard the number of those who were sealed: 144,000 from all the tribes of Israel.

From the tribe of Judah 12,000 were sealed, from the tribe of Reuben 12,000, from the tribe of Gad 12,000, from the tribe of Asher 12,000, from the tribe of Naphtali 12,000, from the tribe of Manasseth 12,000, from the tribe of Simeon 12,000, from the tribe of Levi 12,000, from the tribe of Issachar 12,000, from the tribe of Zebulum 12,000, from the tribe of Joseph 12,000, from the tribe of Benjamin 12,000.

Rev. 14: 1-5, Then I looked, and there before me was the Lamb, standing on Mount Zion and with him the 144,000 who had His name written and his Father’s name written in their foreheads. And I heard a sound from heaven like the roar of rushing waters and like a loud peal of thunder. The sound I heard was like the harpists playing their harps.

And they sang a new song before the throne and before the four living creatures and the elders. No one could learn the song except the 144,000 who had been redeemed from the earth.

No lie was found in their mouths; they are blameless.

These are the references in God’s Word concerning the 144,000 we are looking into. If we look at what is written we will not find anything except one word that could possibly be taken as to them preaching during the Tribulation Period.

This one word is in verse 3- “Servants” in my opinion it is far reaching to conclude, from this, that they will be preaching, without anything else to support the statement. But it doesn’t stop people from stating it as fact and I have heard it from many sources (people).

To mention a few others: It is a sin to buy a dog! The Garden of Eden was in Africa! Cleanliness is next to Godliness! The Garden of Eden was in Iraq! The resurrection was before the Trib started “because” the Church isn’t mentioned after chapter 3! And there are so so many more!!

I have found the Scripture mentioned in all these statements and like the 144,000 the Scripture did NOT support the statements! We can not believe things from anyone but God alone!

Psalm 116:11, And in my dismay I said, “All men are liars.” Romans 3:4, Not at all! Let God be true, and every man a liar. As it is written: “So that you may be proved right when you speak and prevail when you judge.”

Always check it out with His Word!
