I hear many people say they are saved and base it on many things, like: I went forward in a church when I was a young, I am a member of _____ church, I don’t cuss, drink, smoke or do anything else that is bad.

Some will even say they accepted Jesus as their Savior back in____. In many of these cases you can clearly see that what they say doesn’t correspond with the life they live.

I remember, when I wasn’t what I pretended to be, I was watching miss nude America, the announcer was talking with one of the girls. She said she would win because she was a Christian and God would cause her to win.

Why would someone believe they were a child of God and be able to live this type life? Maybe because she had someone (preacher maybe?) that didn’t preach the Truth from the pulpit.

2 Peter 2: 1-3, But there were false prophets among the people, just as there will be false teachers among you. They will secretly introduce heresies, even denying the sovereign Lord who brought them-bringing swift judgment on themselves.

Many will follow their depraved conduct and will bring the way of truth into disrepute. In their greed these teachers will exploit you with fabricated stories. Their condemnation has long been hanging over them, and their destruction has not been sleeping.

Hebrews 10: 26-31, If we deliberately keep on sinning after we have received the knowledge of the truth, no sacrifice for sins is left, but only fearful expectation of judgment and raging fire that will consume the enemies of God.

Anyone who rejected the law of Moses died without mercy on the testimony of two or three witnesses. How much more severely do you think someone deserves to the punished that has trampled the Son of God underfoot, who has treated as an unholy thing the blood of the covenant that sanctified them, and who has insulted the Spirit of grace?

For we know him who said, “It is mine to avenge; I will repay,” and again, “The Lord will judge his people.” It is a dreadful think to fall into the hands of the living God.

I believe there are degrees of punishment in Hell and if there is would you not agree those teaching falsehoods deceiving people would receive more punishment than the ones being deceived?

That, of course, will not exonerate the ones deceived, the Truth is there and they Choose to follow those that (2Tim. 4:3, For the time will come when men will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear.)

Jesus said, Matt. 7:21-23, “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven.

Many will say to Me in that day, ‘:Lord, Lord have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out deamons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’ And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!'”

Notice Jesus said, “Many” and that He never “knew” them? Many think and will think they are going to Heaven to find out it is NOT so! Also notice these were those that were “doing” things, not the strippers etc. Church folk in leadership rolls!

This was discussed this last Sunday in church and prior to August 1991, I was one of those. Yep, I taught Sunday School, Sunday School Director, chairman of Deacons, stood in the pulpit and preached.

So what am I saying? Nothing! God’s Word says it All! If we love Him we will obey Him and as the preacher said, it can be read the opposite: If we don’t obey Him, we don’t love Him!

Jesus again speaking said, John 14: 15, “If you love me, you will obey what I command.”
Jesus said it, not me!
Is He your Boss, your Leader, your God, your Lord?
Does Jesus know you?
