GOOD FATHERS ARE NOT PERFECT,
BUT THEY DO THE BEST THEY CAN.
THEY PLAY WITH KIDS AND READ TO THEM,
AND FATHERS ARE THEIR FAN.

GOOD FATHERS ALWAYS WANT WHAT’S BEST
FOR EVERYONE AT HOME.
THEY SEE THEIR CHILDREN OFF TO SCHOOL,
AND MAKE SURE THEIR HAIR IS COMBED.

GOOD FATHERS GO TO CONCERTS,
AND TO BASKETBALL, AND PLAYS.
THEY TEACH THEIR CHILDREN TO ENJOY
THEIR LIVES AND ALL THEIR DAYS.

GOOD FATHERS ALSO HAVE TO WORK.
THEY HAVE TO EARN THEIR BREAD.
THEY WANT THEIR FAMILIES TO HAVE MONEY,
AND TO GET AHEAD.

SOMETIMES THEY CANNOT BE AT HOME,
BUT WHEN THEY ARE AWAY,
THEY CARE ABOUT THEIR FAMILIES,
AND THEY PRAY TO GOD EACH DAY.

GOOD FATHERS HAVE TO DISCIPLINE,

AND SOMETIMES HAVE TO RULE.
THEY NEED TO DO WHAT’S RIGHT AT HOME,
AND THAT MAY NOT BE COOL.

GOOD FATHERS DON’T END UP IN JAIL,
FOR SOMETHING BAD THEY DID.
THEY TAKE RESPONSIBILITY
FOR THEMSELVES AND ALL THEIR KIDS.

THEY DON’T BECOME A DEAD-BEAT DAD,
AND LEAVE THE MOM AT HOME
TO TAKE CARE OF EVERYTHING,
AND LEAVE HER ALL ALONE.

AND IF YOU HAVE A BABY,
WITH YOUR GIRL FRIEND BY YOUR SIDE,
YOU MUST THEN BECOME A DAD,
AND TAKE HER AS YOUR BRIDE.

OF ALL THE THINGS I MENTIONED,
A GOOD FATHER NEEDS TO HEED.
IF YOU REMEMBER NOTHING ELSE,
GOOD FATHERS NEED TO LEAD.
