This is a more complex name than most think. Many feel all they have to do is join a church to be a Christian while other feel if they go down, say “the” prayer they’re a Christian.

Many feel if they don’t “do” bad things they are a Christian, while other feel if they live a better life that so and so that names themselves as a Christian, they are good to go.

Well to bust all of those bubbles- it just ain’t so!!

The time is getting close to Jesus’ return and I am being compelled to change the way I’ve been writing. Oh it is good to know all the little things in the Bible-

But there is a truth that needs to be told even more than anything, so the things I write from now on will relate to these truths that leads to Heaven or Hell.

That choice is as it always has been “your” choice.

I will start with a question: Why did you want to be saved?
Did someone ask you if you wanted eternal life?
Would you like to go to Heaven when you die?

How about them saying you were going to hell if you kept on like you were going?

Although all these are true NONE of them is a reason to give your life to Jesus.

Then why?

Lets look at Scripture for the answer:

John 17:1-3, After Jesus said this, he looked toward heaven and prayed: “Father, the hour has come. Glorify your Son, that your Son may glorify you. For you granted him authority over all people that he might give eternal life to all those you have given him. Now this is eternal life: that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent.

Notice what Jesus said in verse 3- eternal life was knowing the only true God and Jesus Christ, whom You have sent! It’s ALL about knowing Him!

It isn’t about you or I being in Heaven but about knowing Him! Is it to know about Him? NO! Everyone can know about Him but there is a very few that Know Him.

You can’t join a church and know Him, you can’t be good enough to know Him, you can’t even walk front of a church  and say “a” prayer and know Him!

Some that will know about Him He says:

Matt. 7:22-23,  Many will say to me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name and in your name drive out demons and in your name perform many miracles?’ Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!’

Notice this is not the well known lost people, but those that go to church, or mass, but they haven’t given themselves to the lord.

I recently (on Facebook) was communicating with a woman in Oregon. She said she had been born again- but that she had moved on (like to bigger and better)

In other words she was NEVER born again and was as lost as in the beginning. She had just learned some “about” Him!

But you can know Him if you are willing to “do” His will! Where did I get ‘do” His will?

Matt. 12:48-50, He replied to him, “Who is my mother, and who are my brothers?” Pointing to his disciples, he said, “Here are my mother and my brothers. For whoever does the will of my Father in heaven is my brother and sister and mother.”

Now lets look at what James and Paul has to say:

James 2:14-26,  What good is it, my brothers and sisters, if someone claims to have faith but has no deeds? Can such faith save them? Suppose a brother or a sister is without clothes and daily food. 16 If one of you says to them, “Go in peace; keep warm and well fed,” but does nothing about their physical needs, what good is it? In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead.

But someone will say,You have faith; I have deeds.”

Show me your faith without deeds, and I will show you my faith by my deeds. You believe that there is one God. Good! Even the demons believe that–and shudder. you foolish person, do you want evidence that faith without deeds is useless? Was not our father Abraham considered righteous for what he did when he offered his son Isaac on the altar? You see that faith and his actions were working together, and his faith was made complete by what he did. And the Scripture was fulfilled that says,! “Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness, “and he was called God’s friend. You see that a person is considered righteous by what they do and not by faith alone. In the same way, was not even Rahab the prostitute considered righteous for what she did when she gave lodging to the spies and sent them off in a different direction? As the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without deeds is dead.

Romans 3: 27-28, Where, then, is boasting? It is excluded. Because of what law? The law that requires works? No, because of the law that requires faith.  For we maintain that a person is justified by faith apart from the works of the law.

Now Paul spoke many times on Salvation through faith alone. As we all know the Bible never contradicts itself, so how do we reconcile these different men with what they say?

Actually it isn’t hard because as I said, we have to remember both are telling the truth and don’t mean something opposite of the other- BUT different to each other.
See- Salvation comes through faith and faith alone- however “fake” faith will show up in fake following of the Lord. James said: Show me your faith without deeds and I will show you my faith “through” my deeds!

He is making it clear- without deeds faith is a “false” faith- and the false person will have NO regard to the “things” of God! This will appear in their lives some immediately some in due time!
