How To Receive Forgiveness!

When we do someone wrong asking anyone else for forgiveness will not receive it.

Example: I steal your car, then go to my cousin and, telling him, “I’m sorry for stealing that car. Please forgive me for doing this wrong toward someone else.”

Well my cousin can’t forgive me for stealing your car- only you can! Did you know, you can’t forgive me “completely” when I have sinned against you? The problem is no human being can forgive us for sin- Only God can! There is NO amount of “things” you can do for this forgiveness.

No sayings you can do enough, no amount of money given to the church, so what do we HAVE to do? With all things to get the answer we MUST seek God’s Word to know the truth. Lets look at not only a sinner but a man called, a man after God’s own heart- yes David:

Reminding God!

I have heard many people say we remind God of His promises and therefore He will fulfill or requests. Pray Scripture back to Him- like He forgot?

I wonder how many of us actually think we can, much less do, remind God of anything. He is God- His Word is for us to study and His promises are for us to be assured or reassured.

Would it not be more appropriately to say, pray Scripture back to God “reminding” us acknowledging we know and believe in His promises?

Reminds me of those that pick a verse out of the Bible, sometimes twisting it or not, and determining a fact from it. Some entire churches are based off of a particular verse or quote from the Bible.

Knowing The Mind of God!

First off we must realize it is Impossible to “know” God’s mind. But it isn’t even hard to know His desire for His creation, all it takes is reading His Word!

But first lets look at what He says about us knowing His thoughts:

Isaiah 55: 7-11, Let the wicked forsake his way and the evil man his thoughts. Let him turn to the LORD, and he will have mercy on him, and to our God for he will freely pardon. “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither my ways your ways,” declares the LORD. “As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts. As the rain and snow come down from heaven, and do not return to it without watering the earth and making it bud and flourish, so that it yields seed for the sower and bread for the eater, so is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.
