Do we believe Jesus, or did He lie???

At first you would say, “Yes I believe and He didn’t lie!” So why is it so many times we act like we don’t believe Him? We pray asking for a need but not really believe He will give us what we ask!

John 15: 7 & 8, If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be given you. This is to my Father’s glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples.

Matthew 21: 21 & 22, Jesus replied, “Truly I tell you, if you have faith and do not doubt, not only can you do what was done to the fig tree, but also you can say to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and it will be done. If you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer.”

What Does Jesus Desire of Us?

At times we get involved in “doing” things for God. That can range from giving (tithes), preparing meals for the needy, repairing things at church, as we are about to pour a new concrete pad behind the church to aid the Ladies as they come out, having the Preacher over for dinner (fried chicken)

There are many things we can “do” for Jesus BUT what is His desire? Like always lets look at His Word for the answer:

Luke 10: 38-40, As Jesus and his disciples were on their way, he came to a village where a woman named Martha opened her home to him. She had a sister called Mary, who sat at the Lord’s feet listening to what he said. But Martha was distracted by all the preparations that had to be made. She came to him and asked, “Lord, don’t you care that my sister has left me to do the work by myself? Tell her to help me!”

Fact or Speculation

Over the years I, like you, have heard many things told as fact (God said) and in searching found it to be ideas told and believed when there was no truth to them.

Do you accept things as truth, not questioning it, when someone tells something as though it is written in the Bible? Many come to my mind, but for space we’ll look at just one:

The 144,000 Jews will be preaching during the Tribulation.

Like I say there are many, many more serious then this but just making a point that we should never accept what others say, but check it out ourselves!

Can Holding A Grudge Hurt You?

Lets first look at what God has to say about grudges to get His feelings on the subject.
Lev. 19:18- “Do not seek revenge or bear a grudge against anyone among your people, but love your neighbor as yourself. I am the Lord.”

Guess it meant enough for Him to tell us not to do it, huh? Usually when we hold a grudge the bitterness hurts us much more than the person we are holding it against.

There’s an adage that states ‘holding a grudge is like drinking poison and waiting for the other person to die.’ Simply put, holding a grudge eats at your physical, mental, and emotional being while the other person who hurt or angered you has more than likely moved on with his or her life.

Would Anyone Die For A Lie?

Recently I was trying to explain to some others how no one would die for a lie. But would be willing to for the truth. That we believe and have faith in Jesus for our Salvation. But unlike us the Disciples were with Him and experienced Him.

Any time they could have saved their own lives by just saying, “Wait guys, we were lying He didn’t really raise from the grave.” However they would rather die and did, rather than say it wasn’t true.

James, brother of John, was the first (Acts 12:1&2, It was about this time that King Herod arrested some who belonged to the church, intending to persecute them. He had James, the brother of John, put to death with the sword.)
